Kubernetes for Collaborations

Abstract:

Kubernetes is the most popular microservice orchestrator. It brings high robustness, scalability, extensibility, usability, and security into Cloud native computing. In addition to its dominance in Public and Private Cloud, Kubernetes is also at the core of many successful academia collaboration projects, providing both compute and storage infrastructure for scientific research in the world. This talk presents to the research community two aspects around Kubernetes: adopting Kubernetes and its ecosystem to build a converged compute cluster for scientific research; and adapting research on architectures of networking and storage to meet this new compute environment.
